Beautiful Day, Beautiful Creations

It has been a beautiful week here in Myrtle Beach!  It makes me want to grab a book, dig my toes in the sand, and relax away!  Thinking of warm weather also gets me excited for the upcoming festivals for Lilly Lu's!

March 12th I will participating in the 23rd St. Patrick's Day Festival from 9:00-4:00!  I am very excited!  This will be my first debut in North Myrtle Beach!  That being said, I have been busy making custom orders and new creations for the St. Patrick's Day Festival.  I have ventured into making brooches and headbands and let me tell you, they are adorable!  Here are a few new items:

I fell in love with this headband!!  Perfect for any season!

These two headbands were created on an elastic headband for a special little girl, Olivia.  Some of my followers/customers loved them so much, they want them made on a metal headband.  What a success!

Love the elephant!

This brooch was made for an Alabama fan on Houndstooth fabric.  What a classy way to support your favorite team!  I will be debuting USC brooches here very soon that look like this, but with a Gamecock of course!

I wasn't the only one that loved my houndstooth brooch.  It was featured in a Treasury on Etsy.com nearly hours after I listed it!  Here is a quick peek at the Houndstooth Treasury.  If you would like a closer look, click here: Houndstooth Treasury on Etsy.com

I've got a busy season of weddings coming up.  With so many, I have been asked to create some hair pieces for brides, flower girls, and bridesmaids!  I can't wait to show you that line of hair pieces.  I can't wait to show you Katee's hair piece I made for her veil! To die for!  I must wait until after her wedding on March 26, 2011!

Remember, you can purchase my items by going to my Etsy shop: Lilly Lu's Collection Shop.  If you don't see an item listed in my shop that you see here in my blog or on my Facebook page, Lilly Lu's Collection on Facebook, let me know!  I will list anything you desire to get these beautiful creations to you!

Happy Saturday everyone!  Go out and enjoy this beautiful and warm February weekend!

Much love. . Elizabeth

Blog Award!! : )

What a compliment to receive a blog award!  Thank you so much to Kirby and Anna from A Pair of Kings Blog on giving me this reward.  My first thought about this award: "Wait, me!? Awesome!"  This is my first experience, not only creating items for people to enjoy, but in blogging.  To be noticed just gives me that extra confidence that maybe people do love my creations!

So upon receiving this award I found out the rules!  Rules of the award: Once awarded, you must write 7 facts about yourself and then award it to fellow bloggers; make sure to let them know! Also, link back to the one who awarded you!

1. The person that awarded me I met through my student internship in 1st grade.   The person that awarded her, I went to high school with her!  So yes, Anna. . talk about a small world!
2. I am in LOVE with owls.  They are my new weakness in cuteness.
3. I am sometimes {often ; )} running into things...but always laughing at myself for it!
4. When I'm not teaching, I am creating.  At times it is something different every week!  The one thing I can't do?  Use a sewing machine to create small items. . it eats me alive!
5.  Driving/riding a jet ski comes easy for me!  I LOVE it!
6.  I just got a new kitten . . . Peanut!  He gives me a new reason to cuddle more often in the middle of the day, on the couch!
7.  I have always had the feeling there is something else out there waiting for me within my hobby of creating pieces of art.  Only time will tell. . .

Now, here are a few blogs that 100% deserve this award:

Busy, busy times!

Whew!  What a crazy past couple of weeks it has been!  My kindergarten students and my teacher life has kept me way for a little while.  Here is a glimpse into Room 205!

Celebrating the 100th day of school!! : )

I also added a new addition to the family . . and a future Lilly Lu's Collection model!  Just take a look at this cutie!

Meet Peanut!
Soon to come to Lilly Lu's Collection?  Beautiful and fun pieces that will attach to your pet's collar!!  I just have to wait until Peanut calms down (a.k.a. not so much of a kitten) in order for him to model for me!  Meanwhile, anyone have an adorable cat or dog that would like to model for me??

Lilly Lu's Collection has also hit a milestone!!  We reached over 100 fans recently on our Facebook page!!  Become a fan of our Facebook page by clicking here: Lilly Lu's Collection on Facebook.  What a great achievement within the first couple months of starting the fan page!  It would not have been possible without the help of my devoted fans and customers! Thank you, thank you!!

What's even better??  We are currently at 110 people!  To celebrate reaching 100 fans though, I held a drawing to give away some of my hair pieces!  The following people were the lucky winners to receive a free hair piece:
Amanda from Myrtle Beach

Dominique from Hilton Head Island

Heather from Little River
Finally, what better way to end the day than to realize that I have been featured in a treasury on Etsy?  A local, and great photographer, has made a treasury featuring artists and crafters in the Grand Strand area.  Here is a sneak peak of it:

Click around on shop this treasury by clicking the following link:  http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4d499f4b3f2a6d91aaf5c15d/local-love  Treasuries are a great way to get exposure on Etsy.  I am always thrilled when someone decides to feature me in one of their treasuries they are creating!  Many thanks to Laura Scott, a photographer out of Surfside Beach, South Carolina!  Visit her Etsy shop by clicking here: Laura B Scott on Etsy.com.  You can also become a Facebook fan!  Laura B Scott on Facebook  Here are some samples of her amazing work:

Well, my dear friends, I think I have caught up for tonight!  It is back to the drawing board for the next couple of days to start creating some new hair pieces!  I'll have new hair clips, elastic headbands, metal headbands, and brooches being introduced sometime in the near future!  To give you one last smile, here is little Madalyn having a tea party with her baby brother while enjoying one of Lilly Lu's Collection headbands! Adorable!
