Signs Galore!

Whew!  These past two weeks have been a whirlwind of excitement and exhaustion!  I started back at school the 11th and my 20 Kindergarten students came the 22nd.  : )  Needless to say, hair pieces have been put on hold. BUT. .. .my hand painted signs are back in production along with other teacher oriented crafts. Here are some of my creations:

Teachers, Football Fans, Weddings. . . Oh My!

My last day of summer break (bittersweet) was spent making custom orders!  So sad that after today I won't be able to craft and create all day (or at least whenever I want to).  I will just have to re-adjust my schedule. : )  I was busy making hair pieces for a USC fan and a school teacher that will be getting married in October.  Here are the results:

I have also been bust making signs for teachers.  A cool way to personalize your space as a teacher.  Just take a look:

Well, time to enjoy my last summer night before school starts!  I'll leave you with a picture of my workspace from today. . minus my cat. : )

I'm In Love!

Living in Barefoot, I have easy access to Barefoot Commons.  Barefoot Commons has my bank, Bi-Lo, Walgreens, a mexican restaurant, Mongolian Grill, Red Box, Blockbuster Express, etc. . .Needless to say I don't have to go very far for a few things that I may need. I got really excited (maybe a little too excited according to Ryan) when I saw that a new fabric store was opening in Barefoot Commons!  As soon as they get their website up and running, I will be linking!

Such a sweet and charming couple that owns the new store. . .and some fabulous fabrics! I walked away with 6 different pieces (whoops).  I purchased two shades of grey (which I LOVE), purple, and lime green for some custom hair pieces I am about to make.  I then purchased a polka dot and "wood" fabric for a special project I will be attempting hopefully this week.

Can't wait to show you some completed work!
For now. . . have a great week everyone!

xoxo, Elizabeth

Too much sunlight when taking this picture!  The "yellow" is really a lime green, the "white" is really a light grey, and the last one is a pretty deep but bright purple.

I loved both of these as soon as I saw them. . especially the yellow wood one!

Yes, I'm Alive. Yes, I Have Slacked!

Whew!  Last post was in May?  Where did the time go?  What happened to me?  Well, I can't help you with the time question, but I can tell you what happened to me in one word: Gallbladder.  I had such an extensive to-do/ go get 'em list for Lilly Lu's this summer.  One of the perks of being a teacher is that you get the summers off!  Exactly one week after school was out for the summer, I was undergoing emergency gallbladder surgery. . gallstones and everything!  It took me until the first week in July to fully recover.   Here were some of my intentions:

** Blog throughout the weeks.
** Make many, many hair pieces.
** Start selling in stores locally.
** Get professional pictures done.

Well, one of them did happen!  I have placed my hair pieces in Hope Taylor and Company AND Crazee Birds.  Both of the amazing and truly unique stores are located on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach, SC.  But please, let me remind you, if you live out of town you can purchase my hair pieces at Lilly Lu's Collection on Etsy.

And! Wait!  I am engaged!!  My handsome fiance proposed to me on July 14th!  The very next day he took me on a wonderful vacation to Florida!  So then I spend the best part of July celebrating my engagement!  (I'll put pictures at the end!)
With my 2nd year of teaching (woo hoo!!) beginning in about two weeks, I have decided that the other three goals will happen this year!!  I will just need to make time for it.  Teachers teach with 1+ kids of their own, so I think I can do this!

Meanwhile, here are some hair pieces I did create this summer.  A few of these are custom orders while the others were made to send to the Hope Taylor and Company and Crazee Birds.  Enjoy!  Please forgive the webcam pictures!  My camera was MIA for about a month!

This hair piece (Under the Sea) was originally a custom order for a customer a few months ago.  Since this hair piece has sold, it has become a favorite among many customers!

A friend in TN custom ordered Auburn Tigers themed hair pieces for her 2-year-old niece.  I hope she loves them!
